Terms of Service

Flock ID is the account you use to sign in to Flock Capital's apps, run by Flock Capital, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company with its principal place of business in Seattle, Washington (“Flock”, “we”). These terms cover your Flock ID account. Each app may have its own terms for what you do inside it; paid plans are covered by the Billing Terms, and how we handle your data by the Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 16 years old to have a Flock ID, wherever you live, and able to agree to these terms. Some Flock apps require you to be older (Causerie, for example, requires 18); their own terms say so. One person per account; you may hold more than one account, but not to get around a suspension or a limit.

You may not use Flock ID or buy a Flock plan if you are, or act for, a person on a US, UN, EU or UK sanctions list, or if you're in or ordinarily resident in a country or region under comprehensive sanctions (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Russia and Belarus). You agree not to export or use Flock software in breach of export-control laws. We may refuse or end service where these rules require it.

• Give a real email address you control, and keep your password, passkeys, authenticator and backup codes safe.
• You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at contact@flock.holdings if you think someone else is using it.
• Your username and display name must not impersonate someone else or break the law.
• When you sign in to an app with Flock ID, that app gets only what the sign-in screen says. You can revoke any app in Account → Connected apps.

Don't use Flock ID to:

• break the law or anyone's rights;
• attack, probe or overload the service, or get around its security, rate limits or licence limits;
• sign in as someone else, or share or resell access to paid features;
• create accounts automatically or in bulk.

Good-faith security research is welcome: tell us at contact@flock.holdings before you publish.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people or the service at risk, or that the law requires us to act on. Unless that would be unsafe or unlawful, we'll tell you why and give you a way to respond. You can delete your account at any time in Account → Your data; deletion takes effect after a 14-day grace period, during which signing in lets you cancel it.

If we close your account for a reason other than your breach of these terms, we'll refund the unused part of any paid period.

We work hard to keep Flock ID secure and available, but we provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will always be available or error-free, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.

To the extent the law allows, Flock isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill; and our total liability for any claim about Flock ID is limited to the greater of what you paid Flock in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

We'll tell you by email at least 30 days before a change that affects you materially takes effect, unless the change is required by law sooner. Each version is listed with its effective date at the top of this page. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section removes the protection of mandatory laws of the country or state where you live, or your right to bring proceedings there.
